Glingbobs and Tootflits

Good morning all.

No I haven't lost my marbles, just been for a walk in Pressmennan Woods.
As we had little or no snow ourselves last week we had a run out to Pressmennan Woods, near Stenton on Wednesday afternoon to walk the dog. They had a little more snow than us but not a lot and it was very muddy and slippery underfoot.

Lovely wintery reflections in the lake.

Pressmennan is a mixed woodland, bordered by a lake and owned by the Woodland Trust who are gradually restoring it to native plant species only. Home to deer, hares, bats, otters and owls, along with sculpted creatures known as Glingbobs and Tootflits, Pressmennan Wood has something for everyone.

Dead wood is left or made into features.

This is a lovely scenic walk along the side of the lake then back through the woods to the car park.

Now I have to admit to forgetting about the Glingbobs and Tootflits so didn't get any photos of the fairy doors and windows...I will next time we go! The only wildlife we encountered were two swans on the other side of the lake and a robin but it was a pleasant if not chilly afternoon.
