North, South, East...

Good morning all.

Everyone tends to think of Land's End and John O Groats as being the extremities of mainland Britain when they actually represent the greatest distance (874m) between two habitable places.

Hubby and I recently managed to visit John O Groats after visiting Land's End a few years ago...of course you need the obligatory photo shoot in front of the signs!

Excuse hubby's fat finger top right!

The actual extremities are Dunnet Head, Lizard Point, Lowestoft Ness and Ardnamurchan Point.

Northernmost Point - Dunnet Head

Southernmost Point - Lizard Point

Fat finger strikes again!

Easternmost Point - Lowestoft Ness
I seem to remember this took a lot of finding...no sign posts or tourist info signs yet when we got here is was all laid out nicely with distance markers and suchlike.

Westernmost Point - Ardnamurchan Point
West we've yet to visit but it's on the list for the next time we head north which shouldn't be too long into the future.
